Any1 painted their stock WRX rims?

I was wondering if any of u guys painted ## stock rims? Im thinking of painting mines either gunmetal or black, since my car is silver. If u did do it, what kind of paint did u use? and got pics? Thanks

personally..i havent painted MY stock wheels..but i have seen them done. i have painted a few wheels..its pretty easy...if you prep correctly

you can use regular spray paint...but i use base/clear. pick your color..use a good clearcoat....or, you can use a single stage paint. whichever you feel comfortable shooting.

prepwork is the key.....COMPLETELY wash the wheels to start with...usually two to three times. ESPECIALLY if you have EVER used tire dressing on your wheels....silicones and paint DO NOT mix!! after you wash the wheels, scuff the surface with some 400 grit paper..or use a scotchbrite pad from a paint shop.

after scuffing the wheels well...wash again, then wipe down with a reducer rag....to get rid of any residual surface contaminants. tack it off..blow off one final time...shoot.

or just use a rattle can......i have spraygun, and friends with body shops...

hope this helps
