Aluminum Shifter trim

Anyone ever installed this? I just got it today and there are NO instructions and I'm just looking for a place to start. I know you have to trim/drill some, and I'm wondering if it's worth it. For starters, how do you get the leather boot off of the knob when you unscrew it?

Well I can't speak about the trim.

I myself wondered the same thing when I put my Momo shifter knob on. After you unscrew the knob just hold the boot below the shifter knob and pull em apart. It has a lip that holds them together. I was afraid I was gonna ruin something at the time.

Well, here's problem number 2. There's a pretty big paint chip in the top so I'm probably going to send it back and get a refund or another one. I'm waiting to hear back from the seller now. I'm also debating whether or not I really want to drill/cut my stock console, so who knows. I am going to be down at Freddy's Saturday, maybe we can finally meet in person...what time you plan on being there if you're going?

I'll probably be there around 5 or so. Not sure though. I have a car show to go to that morning, so it depends on what time I get out. If you get a chance, go over to www.dragva.com. A lot of us post there too (in the Western VA forum) and there is always a thread about Fast Freddy's.
