52mm gauges equal 2" guages??

I was wondering if the 2 Inch guages you find at the local autoparts store are compatible with the 52mm housings found on the web? I know the measurements equal to themselves, but I just wanna make sure they truly fit. I am considering buying some Autometer guages and place them in a clock-replacement guage holder. Thanks

there are 25.4 mm in one inch. so a 2 inch gauge will equal a diameter of 50.8mm. so if the dimensions are truly what they call out, the difference between a 2 inch gauge and a 52mm gauge is about .047 of an inch (about the thickness of a key). a 2 inch should fit in a 52mm cluster where the 52mm will not fit in a 2" cluster.
