I've had my 2008 WRX Wagon for about Five months now and one of the biggest things missing from the car beside the 46 extra horsepower they decided to add in '09 is a good auxiliary sound system connection. I basically use my iPod in the car and use the auxiliary jack in the car for a direct connection using a wire I bought at wal-mart.
When I use MP3 CD's, the system can get pretty loud but obviously being stock could improve. But when I use my iPod through the auxiliary wire the sound is a lot quieter. It is the same quality for its volume as the MP3 Cds but is a lot softer.
Anyone know if its the wire I'm using or if its just the way the auxiliary connection goes through the amp that softens the output?
And just in general, anyone with '08s or '09s: Any speaker/sound system upgrades already installed?
