08 Rear view mirror blind spot

Does anyone else with an 08 or 09 have the same problem of not being able to see around the interior rear-view mirror? It's a really big inconvenience for me any time I take a right corner or drive around a corner to the right. My last WRX had the mirror way up high, and you could still adjust it to pretty much touch the ceiling. The new one's design forces it to basically fall right in your field of view. I was hoping maybe someone out there could think of a solution? It has the dot matrix up top, so I don't think you can move its contact point up, and the arm on the mirror isn't long enough to wiggle it up or down much. I just feel unsafe with it that way. I know it's a silly thing to complain about, but it's my biggest quirk with the car, even over how hideous I first thought the body style was (it grew on me big time).
