ok I know some of this has been covered, but this is a little different.
specs:
2004 WRX 5MT
36k miles on car
16k miles on new OEM clutch(warrenty)
3k miles on Redline Gear Oil
So I put redline (from JSCSpeed WRX page, so it is the right version) in my transmission and rear diff at like 33,000 miles, I did it because I have to double clutch or stop to get into 1st gear, and it was getting kinda hard to upshift into 2nd at high RPMs.
So, at first it seemed "crisper" and better.
Well just 3,000 miles later, I have to double clutch most of the time to downshift, even if I am going like 2mph, otherwise *grind*
If I shift into 4th at about 5,000 rpm it will grind most of the time.
Ok now I know people get all defensive when you say "you suck at driving" but please TELL ME, I would love to figure out what I am doing wrong because damn this is rediculious. I bought a brand new car, raced it maybe 5 times (looong before any problems), drive it pretty gingerly day to day, get maintenence done fairly well on schedule, and it just keeps on getting more and more Effed up.
I have driven manual trans cars for like 10 years and never had any problem like this.
What can I do? Will an RA gearset even help? I have the extended warrenty... should I just complain to subaru? what would they do?
