It could be from it having too much oil. You said it only happens when the car is warmed up and that has me worried that its coolant. Give us some more info? dose it have a sweet smell to it?

Is it bluish white or white? If it's a bluish white, it's oil. If it's white with a sweet smell, it's coolant.

Oil can mean valve seals, piston rings, too much oil, turbo seals, etc.

If it only smokes right after coming off idle, it could be an indication that the oil seals in the turbo are giving up. It could also be the valve stem seals. My '02 suffered the same thing (from both causes) and actually ran strong for 2 1/2 years that way. I eventually spun a rod bearing, however I put my car through extreme abuse (track time, towing)

See if still does it when your oil level is correct, or if it consumes a lot. Mine needed a quart about every 12-1500 miles.

If you just bought the car from a dealer, I would see if they would address the issue. Neither problem is that difficult to fix. I would have them start with the turbo, since that is a more costly rebuild, and the most likely cause.

It could just be normal just a bit of condensation in the exhaust perhaps? I mean how long are you letting it warm up? whats the temperature like where you live? I know where I live, over in NJ, its been raining constantly lately and when I start the car up and let it warm up you can see the water dripping from the tip and it evaporating (Which is a whitish smoke) I mean are we talking CLOUDS of over whelming smoke or just a little puff like what I am describing?
