Ok, I already fixed the problem but I'm wondering what caused it. The bolt that is used to adjust the altenator position sheared off. Not the vertical adjustment bolt but the one that secures the position. I was driving back to school from a much needed break and just as I pull in the lot, I loose my power-steering and my battery light starts flashing. It really sucked. Again, it's fixed now but anyone know how that happened? I am totally clueless.
Most likely the wrong grade bolt, or a faulty bolt was put in there, along with a bit of vibration and a little bit of side to side motion between the bracket and snap, shearing bolts usually only happens when overtightened, too loose, or the wrong grade bolt.
That's kinda what I had thought. It looks like it sheared at a thread so I believe it was a defective bolt.
