wastegate flapper door

so i have recently went with an external tial 38mm wastegate set up. So i had to weld the waste gate arm closed, so not to alow the flapper door to open on my fp16g. now the rod(i guess) that holds the flapper shut, not the arm, rattles and is really annoying. it does alot when its cold. but it seems to quiet down when it warms up and when im driving it. any ideas? thanks, hope this is not to confusing.

That's because you welded the flapper closed. It's something you will have to deal with. Personally, I thought about welding my VF34 shut when I went with the EWG but instead got a bracket that replaces the actuator and bolts it closed. No rattle problems here.

Yep, I built one off the Grimspeed ones for the VF turbos. Pretty simple really, just a flat plate with a curve cut into it. Three holes for the bolts and another flat plate extending to the wastegate arm with a bolt hole in it to lock it together. Hardest part was making sure the wastegate was locked completely closed when building it.
