You sure its coming from your valve covers? I know in the past I had smoke coming from my turbo area and it turned out to be my oil filter wasnt tightened enough so the oil was hitting the dp while I was driving and the smoke came up from behind the turbo area.

Turbo is up top. Take a picture or 2 of where it's wet with oil and where the smoke is and post them.

Any luck with those pics?
I get this too - typically not much if any visible smoke, but definitely burning oil smell at stop lights. Did the pass side VCG last spring and it didn't help (although, truth be told it may still be leaking a bit due to my sloppiness...)
I am finding that my oil filter housing seems to be leaking on the 'back side' (toward the exhaust). The filter will get a drop of oil on it and a streak down the side between changes. Not 100% sure where it's originating from yet but it's somewhere around there!
