turbo quit me?

ok i was going down the road and was getting good steady boost 13.5 psi and everything was fine..i just installed my hid's and i parked it for 5-6 minutes tops..and got back in it and made it 200 feet from the parking spot not even getting out of first gear..i smelt something hot..cant really describe what it smelled like but i just smelt it for a second..and i pulled over b/c first thing i thought would be something with the Hid. and it looked like one was turned off from inside the car..but it was on..and after that i cannot hit boost..im getting good vacuum (17-18)...but no boost whatsoever..i couldnt hear the turbo spool up..i got home and got my fiance to rev it a lil and i could not hear the turbo idling down..(its straight piped TBE)..Every once in a while i have some fuel cut and it sounds like anti-lag..but it does it randomly..
2002 wrx 5spd
It has 94k miles
k&N drop in filter
Agency power Hardpipe turbo inlet
big 16G turbo

Hope with the rest of those mods....you managed to swap out the up-pipe. Because sucking up the cat would be horrible. I don't understand how you have psi, but you say you have no boost.

the excess heat and no boost sounds like a up pipe frag. could be a nice chunk sitting in the exhaust housing blocking up the flow and making a ton of heat due to the restricted flow. do you have a EGT gauge?

A... spare... wastegate? You mean the actuator? The wastegate itself is internal to your turbo and no exactly replaceable on it's own...

You didn't answer my questions:

if ## not hitting boost, turbo isnt spooling, if ## turbo isnt spooling something has lodged itself in ## turbo turbine fins. all that hot exhaust build up is what u smelt most likely (you probably know this already) go get it checked out or check it urself. if all the fins are effed then its time to upgrade the turbo and get a new up pipe...just in case.

That's your first problem. Second one is like srninjastar said, you probably are going to need a new turbo.
