Suspension clunk when stopping

It actually only happens the first time I stop after the car has been sitting for a while, towards the point when the car is nearly completely stopped. But it is a very large "CLUNK" that seems to be coming form the front suspension. I can feel it pretty clearly through the wheel and pedals when it happens.

Other than that it occasionally happens when turning on an uneven surface such as pulling into a driveway. This may or may not be related tho.

My initial thoughts were that it is either a bushing problem or an issue with the brakes (seeing as how I am in dire need of new rotors and pads in the front) My dad thought it may simply be the ABS calibrating itself as it does on his corvette.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I came across this post which may have a few hints for me but didnt address the fact that it only happens the first time I come to a stop after the car sits for a few hours.

I think you might be reffering to the strut clunk, 04 USDM Sti and v7 jdm Sti struts have the issue of clunking in certain driving conditions. Mine does the same thing and i found is what helps is lubing the visible piston rod (or maybe pressure tube, since the struts are inverted) on the strut itself under the dust cover with a little engine oil.
