subaru legacy

im trying to figure out my wifes car it smells like gas in the cabin sometimes when the heater is on..i started too think it might be the fuel injectors leaking or could it be the cold??? oh and its a 2000

If you don't have any CELs the first thing you should try is to tighten the clamps that connect the rubber fuel lines to the hard lines. This problem is pretty common. The picture below is a forester but it's the same deal, tighten all the clamps that look like the ones circled. Don't turn super hard (these little clamps break), just make sure they are all snug. There are a lot of them so make sure you check them all, there is a good chance this is causing your problem. Be sure to get the ones on the passenger side too like the ones underneath the bracket in the 2nd and 3rd pictures below. If you open the hood and sniff around while the engine is running you might be able to get a better idea where the leak is as well.
