stage 2 AP only 8.3 psi max

my 03 wrx, concerned with max boost at only 8.3 shouldnt i be somewhere around 15-16.5psi right? AP stage 2, turbo inlet tube, TBE, and a lightend crank pulley... what might be happening? , car runs fine just not hittin that boost target. ive tried tightening 1 turn on wastegate arm and nothing changed so i put it back to where it was to begin with.... all info greatly appreciated!!!

When did you go stage 2, when did you install the mods, and when did you start monitoring things? Were you monitoring boost before all this?

I am betting that you have a boost leak.

i would also think there is some sort of boost leak. check your turbo to ic connections, then your ic to throttle body. if both of those seem fine, check your uppipe

I'm going to put my money on the fact that there may not be a boost pill in the line between the turbo and the wastegate causing him to only run wastegate pressure.

so i started car up and started listening in the engine bay for a leak, inbetween the inlet tube and the altenator.. i hear air pissing/sucking so i was lookin deeper into the area and i noticed that where the line comes out of the intake manifold goes down and there is 2 lines that go into a plastic electrical plug/ sensor, well that plastic part was broken i called auto zone and gave them a part # got a new one, fixed that but still no boost change, car does idle alot smother now. I dont hear an exhaust leak so i dought its the uppipe..

Ok, the "sensor" is actually the Idle Air Control Valve. Good to hear that you found that problem.

Which side of the T is the pill on? It should be between the T and the turbo. If that's where it is, it sounds like the BCS needs to be replaced.

For an OTS Map from Cobb you have to use the stock 2 port, but if you can afford the 3port and a tune from your tuner thats the best way to go.

Hey I had the exact same problem with my 04 wrx. I was flashed for stage 2, and randomly one day I wasnt getting about 8 psi. I pulled over reflashed stage 2, same thing. Then I decided to reset my ecu with the AP and it fixed the problem and havnt seen it occur again. it worked for me, it may work for you.

just ran into this same 7-8psi boost problem out of the blue. Reset ecu with AP no more boost problems. Got a 90 in a 65 speeding ticket to prove it....
