John: Subaru maintenance schedules and new car break-in period All turbo model plugs are good until 60k. I just had mine replaced two mondays ago.

Thanks.. it seems odd to me that the plugs in a turbo engine last twice as long as the plugs in a non turbo engine.

Well, for obvious reasons they install a better quality spark plug. The Dealer(stealer)ship likes to call the plugs that they use for turbo cars. Platinum spark plugs.

Yep, well the Pulstars were supposed to be one of the best on the market, but they lasted me all of 13k miles. I was expecting them to be good for at least 30k, if not 60k. That'll teach me to spend an outrageous amount of money on something car-related. Seriously.

Hey thanks, that's a really nice offer, but I actually asked for some NGK One Step Colder Iridium plugs (pn# NGK-LFR7AIX) for Christmas, so hopefully if Santa delivers, I'll have an extra set of my own sitting around for when the time comes to change them.

If it's ok with you, I'd like to extend your offer to anyone else who might be interested. The 04-09 STi and 06-09 WRX spark plugs are compatible, just so everyone knows.

NSC's will do nothing... maybe even do more harm than good if running stock boost or RIGHT above. IMHO. Maybe Ron (DumDum) will chime in.

Maybe i'm way off.

Yeah, let me know if someone needs a set (Stock iridiums)

This is IF they do not sell in the next week or so.

Actually, scratch my last post. Did a bit of reading and it seems that one step colder plugs are really meant for cars with 100+ hp over stock (don't know whether that's measured at the crank or at the wheels, but either way, I'm not there yet and probably won't be for a while). There's still a bunch of debate over stock heat range vs. one step colder plugs too so I think I'm just going to stay with stock equipment for now. I'd like to think I learned my lesson from the Pulstars - gonna go with what works for sure this time. Might order one step colder plugs when/if I ever get enough money to upgrade my turbo.

Ordered = NGK stock heat range Iridium plugs for 04+ STi/06+ WRX (pn #LFR6AIX-11)

Hmm, I honestly havent researched much on plugs, but did ask when I was upgrading my car. My tuner said I would be fine with what I had. Guess its really a personal preference.

Yeah, but how much were you willing to part with them for and how come you're not using them? I found them bnib online for $7.57/ea. and free shipping. Plus I didn't even have to pay since they were a Christmas gift

By the time I get another one they will have the new sedan out... And I'm sure the plugs will be different. But yes, I will want another.
