Unhappy Sound on startup

Car runs perfect. Sound goes away after long warmup. I thought there was a rattle noise near the radiator also. All started after negative weather. Always warmed car up before running and drive car 5 miles to work. Never run hard. New timing belt 5k miles ago and smooth idle.

Your belts need to be readjusted or replaced.

Sound on startup

I'd def have to agree with brfatal after listening.

Most shops are slackers man. Nothing new lol! I'd take it back to them and have them hear it. There should be no charge to make the needed adjustments.

Hey, Thanks for the advice. I'll bring it to the shop and have them take a look at the belts.

The acc belts loosen when they are new, I had to tighten them a few times over the couple weeks after I installed them.

Brockton, Is the tightening process difficult? Something I can do myself. I have a good grasp on simple repairs. I have done the spark plugs, turbo heat shield, all new turbo related hoses...

Loosened the belt a little bit and the sound went away. The stealership put the belt on hulk style.

I know this thread is a few months old, but if that sound comes back I found it to be the idler pulley on the accessory belt. When the bearing in my cheap plastic OEM went I thought the car was on it's last leg! It screeches and whines something horrendous. The aftermarket replacement is a metal version with a better quality bearing and sounds whisper quiet compared to the burnt out one being replaced.
