ok well something is definatly wrong with my car. It has been a problem for a little while but seems to be getting worse. Mostly in 4th and 5th gear i feel it most but anyway heres the symptoms:
When i get on it, the car runs fine no problems, but if i am just crusing and holding a small gradual acceleration or just fethering the throttle to keep a consistant speed it is really choppy. Feels like i am giving it gas and letting off over and over again. When the boost is barely spooling up or not spooling up at all it is fine but if i give it even the smallest amount of gas to accel just a little, its begins chopping again. There is no CEL either. I am at a complete loss and could really use some sugestions. THanks guys.
It can be a number of different possible issues.
But start with plugs; by visually inspecting them you will be able to tell if they are bad or about to become bad. Then follow with vacuum line inspection and boost control solenoid check.
Good luck...

Reason: so the NO CEL
mass airflow sensor. check that and clean it with crc maf cleaner.
check for corrosion on the engine temp sensor as well.
if the plugs were bad the car would run like crap all the time or when cold.
my experience with subarus is the maf sensor can get wonky without throwing a ode, and corrosion on the temp sensor plays with the resistance values to the ecu input. typical with ea82's
hey guys fixed it today.....all i can say is i cant believe the difference. It turns out that for some reason at subaru A LOOOOOOONG time ago they must have messed with something but anyway, turns out that for the past year to year and a half i have been driving around with this. The hose going from the intake manifold to the intercooler was pinched with about a quarter inch opening off of the intake. So all of this time i have been driving around with only 9 psi and had no idea. Now that i fixed that, my car is incredible. with my acessport im pushing 16 psi and damn is it different. I cant get the smile off of my face. My gas milage is also ridiculously better, for this whole time ive only been getting MAYBE 200 miles to a tank if im lucky and now its 10 times better. Thanks guys for everything. Couldnt be happier.
Yeah i was pretty lucky. I was going to take it to a wrx tech around me but everyone sugested checkin the spark plugs. Luckily while i was in there tinkering around i saw that the hose was on wrong.
