Gah! That is not a stock turbo it is an IHI VF43 Turbo.

I've attached a list of all the mods.

Wow, looks like you bought someones build. Its risky buying a car that heavily modified.

How long have you had the car? When did this start? Is the car tuned for your mods ? You saying it sounds like garbage keeps bringing me back to thinking its a pre turbo exhaust leak. Can you describe a little better the sound? Is it at idle and constant or only when at wide open throttle?

I did and I had all the the important tests done at Subaru, 152 point inspection, leakdown, and compression test done. Everything came back ok. And it was tuned at AWD Tuning here in Dallas. I've had it for a few months with 0 issues and this one was obviously al my fault.

This just started today when I redlined hard not paying attention. The sound is constant, man it's hard to describe, it's almost just like a scratchy rough sound. I know that's a terrible description but ya. My boost gauge shows it holding no pressure like at all when I throttle it the boost will go up to 0 but will not build any pressure and just drops back down to -20 and stays there.

Check your header and uppipe for cracks, especially at weld points. Check all mounting points for exhaust leaks. Since the sound is constant maybe you can pinpoint where its coming from by listening with the engine idling. If all that checks out ok then it must be post turbo. I would also check the lines coming off your wastegate .

Post turbo doesn't kill boost though. It's just an open exhaust..

When i say post turbo i mean y-pipe, i/c, tb coupler , exct. Not turbo back. Those could kill boost....right?

A leak that significant in IC pipe would cause stalling issues first and formost.

Pre-throttle body and it's post-cold side and pre-hot side. Confusing enough yet? Lol

Welp found the problem, cracked pipe, believe that is my header. Is that correct? Now that that is figured out, any suggestions on new ones to buy that won't break the bank but are still a quality part and just any other input is appreciated.

Close up. Wouldn't let me post both at same time for some reason, maybe because I'm on mobile phone.

Pre-hot side...it'd kill your spool if it's leaking bad.

Edit: Just saw the second photo...yeah, that's a decent crack. I'd recommend GT-Spec headers. Pretty quality from what I've seen. I own some. They have unequal and equal length options. What were your headers? Because you will probably need a new tune for new headers.

Yay...i was right kinda. Boo....that sucks man. What kirt recommended or grimmspeed pnp manifolds with highflow crosspipe . My tuner tells me any change in airflow coming in or going out of the engine will require a re-tune so, if he switches to another brand would it have to be tuned again? It may be able to be welded up also.

Hey could that possibly be the up pipe? Talking with the previous owner he thinks that is the uppipe from looking at the pictures.

Edit: ya just got back underneath the car I do believe that is the uppipe. Or no way?
