Shattered boost line?

2 Attachment(s)
Well hot-damn, boys. I'm back again with another issue. Went to go and fix a boost line by removing a T splitter and putting in a straight connect, and as I pulled the line off the T, it crumbled in my hands. Like it was made from thin plastic. This is the line that comes from the bottom of the bcs. Now I'm pretty sure the one with the restrictor pill in it, is a small hose that goes to the nipple of the turbo, correct? So I'm ok there, hopefully. But this line that shattered, is it a special line that is supposed to have plastic in it? The one I'm holding is the one that was brittle. Keep in mind it's about 15-20° here and these are all stock lines it would appear.

It's line #3 in the second picture on this pdf for a better reference of which line i am talking about...

Its just a regular old vacuum line, you can go to autozone and get a couple feet of it for $4-5. Just take a piece of the old one so you can find the right diameter. Or you can measure the diameter and order some silicone hose online. Silicone will last a lot longer compared to the stock rubber.

This was where that Tee you were asking about the other day was hey? For a boost gauge, but the guy just siliconed it shut. Bad luck, Sorry bro.

Brockton is right, shell out and get the silicone lines. they are easier to work with as well. the standard vac lines get old and brittle as you noticed, while the sili ones stay relatively decent over time. :D

All the lines are brittle as all get-out, man. Probably full of hairline cracks too. Another project to add to the list for this weekend.
