Scratchy noise in the back

I did a search on all types of noise discriptions but came up with just about nothing, nothing that covers my problem at least. When I am driving at any speed I hear a scratchy, clicking, rubbing noise comming from the back interior rear deck. It is making me go f*****g CRAZY. Just started doing this about a week ago and I've had it for 3 months now. My car is an 05 STI and no mods what so ever. Please help with any info at all or advise.

Before I take it back I would like give it a try, it could be simple. And besides, the mechanics will most likely stare at it and come up with some lame excuse as to why its supposed to make that noise.

Thanks
JP

my car makes that noise when it is cold outside... It is a pretty stiff suspension and when the metal is cold, it makes a scraping, squeeking sound.

I am in Texas so it only does it every once in a while, but up there in new york, I could see it happening for months...

do you think maybe thats it? (I bet thats what the warrenty police will tell you)

Actually, your right, I did not even factor in the cold and its effects. I will be paying close attention to it tommorrow, it is supposed to get up to 55 I believe.

Thanks

I have a problem intermittantly with the panel inside the trunk, against the back of the rear seat making some creaking and popping or clicking noise. it sounds like the rear deck but it isnt

I seem to have the same problem that you guys are talkin about...and yeh JP your right the mechanics will make up some stupid excuse ("its the antenna vibrating in the wind" = !!!!) It comes from the rear of my car as well, however it occurs most often when i downshift to slow down and almost never during any other circumstances. So if you find out what it is please let us know, its drivin me insane...

Garage
I have a weird noise that sounds like something is rattling like crazy in my right rear door. but there isn't... only sometimes when I am accelerating at a slower rate during lower rpm's.
