S.M.S Save my subbie!

allright, so yesterday my friend and I spendt about 7 hours installing my new vf39, STI pinks, NGK plugs, STI TMIC, and a walboro fuel pump.

I tuned it with my COBB AP and after everthing was done, drove it about 5 miles, testing it out.

we had a problem with a spark plug wire comming loose and the car would misfire and run like crap, but it would still run.

other then that, i was hitting 18psi in 3rd and 4th, my target boost. (all the parts are used so i didn't think they needed too long to break in)

It was all good untill i was heading over to my girls house, and i came to a stop sign, when i went to hit the gas, there was nothing, and the RPM gauge just kept winding down. the car stalled, and then would not start, it will crank and crank, but it will not catch. I ended up having it towed back to my house, and now it sits in the drive way My friend thinks that maybe my computer got fried. Anyone have any insight, or at least something is should try? Please help!

Your friend might be right. I've heard recently from some protuners you have to be VERY careful when reflashing your ecu with the AP. Those little green connectors are VERY touchy, if they are bumped or touched while the ecu is being reflashed it can def fry your ecu.

Yeah, glad to hear it was something less expensive then a ecu. Probably is close to his STI....just he has probably has some torque on you. That's all.

Yeah, I think that I would have had to cry a lot of tears before I would have thought that it was the brand new fuel pump. It is great that it wasn't anything terribly major.

just took the rex on a 600 mile road trip full loaded down with all my belongings. No problems, enough power to tow an entire trunk full of stuff, and two stuffed back seats with 2 adults in the front...

I pulled the lines off the fuel filter and cranked it and saw that there was not pressure. so it just happened to be the first thing i tried. I didn't think it was going to start and then it fired right up.

Question. at low RPMs there is a high pitched fluttering sound. I thought it might have been the injectors, but after going above 3500 rpms, i cant hear it anymore. It could be the exhaust is just too loud but i think it goes away
