Revving to high after flat battery

I have been away for a week and when I returned my 2004 WRX had a flat battery. I charged the battery and now the car starts with no dramas at all however the idle revs are 2,000 rpm. Does anyone know what could be the problem and how I can fix it?

More than likely your car is reving high because your ECU lost all of its realtime map data and its re-learning. It should happen the first time you drive it, but if it does it every day for the next couple of days then you have a problem.
