not sure if there is any electrical buffs on these forums, but wanted to post this up here for some help . .
today i was trying to hard wire my radar detector with a kit i had bought . . . i hooked everything up the way i thought it should go . . when i turned it on i blew the in-line fuse on the + wire for some reason (guess i didnt hook it up right
) . . . to make sure i didnt screw up the radar detector itself i plugged back in the cigarette lighter power cord, but when i tried turning the detector on i blew the fuse in the cigarette lighter power cord . . . i bought some replacement fuses and now i cant get the radar detector back on without blowing a fuse in the power cord . . . im afraid i may have f***ed up the detector itself . . . - i hope not as i just bought it a few weeks ago - - ($100)
anybody have any idea as to what i did and if there is a way i can fix it . .
