Possible Power steering belt problem???

so eveytime i start my car there is a loud squeaking coming from the engine bay. at first i thought i was low on power steering fluid but i checked and i was fine. i came to the assumption that it might be the belt when, i was doing a uturn (shortly after starting the car) and the wheel was quite rigid and difficult to turn.

how many miles on her?

could be the belt, the pulley, or the whole pump. or, you could have a failing pump and a different belt is squealing.

if you had an experience where there was no power steering and your fluid is ok, i would have the pump checked.

125k on her (former commuter car)

ive never had the power steering go out all the way but prior to the car being fully warmed up it has given me some trouble turning, nothing major

tighten the belt, and if it still makes a noise then it is most likely the pump
