there dont seem to be any boost leaks all hoses are on from filter to throttle body any other ideas im lost

check the hard to reach hoses under the i/c? is it a used turbo? why did you replace it to begin with?

the old turbo wouldnt make any boost at all zero boost

have you reset your ecu? sometimes something that simple will help.

if its running super rich and blowing black smoke maybe you have a fuel issue, leaky injector or something like that.

is it throwing any codes? even if it isnt take it to autozone and have them check anyways, sometimes the ecu will have a code stored but not trigger a cel.

if the ecu reset doesnt work and there are no codes id take it to a shop and let them look at it.

you might have gotten a lemen turbo, that would suck. check the bcs it might be weird too, the subaru bcs is retarded, its right above the airbox.

Does any body know what the problem ended up being? I'm having a similar problem.

-only making 7 psi. but when we put manual bc on it we got 12 psi.

-we checked the voltage on the boost selenoid and it seems ok. (i might try a new one though)

-getting a code for running rich.

-getting intermitent misfire codes on different cylinders.

-sometimes it won't go past 3k rpm, sometimes it's 5k rpm.

-black smoke puffs at upper rpm's

-sometimes it will barely idle.

-we tried a new bov and it made no difference.

-tried a Cobb Ap w/ stage 1 and it made no difference.

-cleaned the MAF.

-checked for air leaks.

I'm putting in new plugs tonight and checking the coils.
