Well since misery loves company, let me toss my story out.
When I was just Stage 2, I was running 13.7 at the local drag strip. Fairly consistent too. Got boost hungry so I decided a VF34 would be plenty for me. After about 6 months of finding the best prices and getting the parts, install day came. Put a base map in for the long drive to Indiana. On the way there, the power steering pump failed. Found a Subaru dealer, bought a new one and fixed the problem. Got to the tuner, left happy. Noticed I was running a bit hot on the way back from the tuner. Made it back home.
The next day I left for work, made it 5 miles down the road and the bottom tank on the radiator BLEW OFF! Yes, OFF. Thankfully I had my tools, crimped it back on, limped it home where it promptly came off again. There it sat for about a month before the performance radiator showed up, along with the ERZ bellmouth, Walbro 255 and the GM BCS. Still waiting on the new silicone coolant hoses. Re-tune for the BCS, break everything in, take it to the track... 14.5
After all the work, all the money, I'm slower? I'm hoping it was just the heat but if it's not I'm going to be really pissed.
