ok i had just got home from drivin from work, i pulled in the driveway and was watchin my coolant temp on my AP (as the car was idleing)and it was slowly goin up from 178degrees -200 degrees and my temp gauge on the dash was reading at the first line(the whole time the temp was raiseing on the AP, the dash gague stayed the same) and as soon as the AP hit 200 degrees the gague on the dash instantly shot up to the red and the car shut off.so then i heard this kind of lite ticking sound under the coolant res. (when the car was off) and it wouldnt go away so i reset the ECU and then the clicking stopped. so i let the car cool and the exact same thing happened again? oh and the coolant was good the whole time, it was full.
anyone have a clue what the hell is goin on with my lemon
Check the plugs on the fans as well, they may have worked loose. Never seen it happen but I'm willing to bet it's possible. If it's not the fans, you either had an air bubble in the coolant, water pump has gone bad, temp sensor has gone bad, or the thermostat is bad.
lol but nothin major huh lol oh god here we go. plugs were still connected, i have a thermostat so im goin to try that next and then the sensor.. hope its not the water pump. ill keep you up dated. oh i checked the fuses they are good
ok so the fans never came but i did connect the test connectors under the dash and the fans came on so it leads me to believe that its is either the temp sensor or the water , got 2 questions, where is this temp sensorand are the blades on the water pump rubber or metal?
correct the fans are not workin as the car heats up, but they did work when the car was off and i connected the test conecctors under the dash. i have my AP reading my coolant temp,(because the gauge on the dash stays the same as the car heats up). so could this "temperture sensor" have something to do with the fans not comin on?

Looks like you did a good job as well at determining that it was the temp sensor
