Question no CAT CEL

i was driving for 20 min when i was merging onto a major highway, so i merged hella fast on. i was doing 80 mph when my check engine light poped up! i was like what the hell!?? so i took it to my friend who is a micanic, and owns a wrx. he ran a scan and the computer told him that there was a malfunction on the up pipe CAT, wich we had removed with the gruppie pipe. he cleared the CEL, and it is fine now.

will this happen again, and how can i make it so it doesnt happen again!?

will the computer learn that there is no CAT!??

Yes, it will happen again. You need a MIL eliminator from www.ponyexpressperformance.com or you can make your own: www.dooleyprinting.com/brsc/O2_Mil_Fix.doc

there should be no Code for the cat in your uppipe. The front O2 sensor must be intact to operate the car. DO NOT MIL ELIM. IT!!!

you can save yourslef some money if you are elecrically competent. it involves soldering a 2.2k ohm resistor in series to the downstream o2 signal wire to the ecm. i think it was the white wire, but dont hold me to that. someone please correct me if i am wrong. the pinout at the ecm is terminal 17, on connector b135......the 20 pin connector. sorry...my scanner is down..otherwise i would scan my printout from alldata.....im sure someone has the link. cosmo does, i think.....
hope this helps
