Angry No Boost

I just upgraded everything to the stage 4 TMI from Turbo XS and everything went in fine! I had a Greddy Profec-B boost controller in there originally and at first we went with that instead of the turbo xs controller and WE GOT BOOST but we also got misfiring due to what we think is the UTEC making fuel do it's own thing and the Greddy trying to mess with the fuel too! We then hooked up the turbo xs controller and get a constint 10 lbs (if that) no matter what we do, then we went without a controller and still get 10 lbs. The controller from Turbo xs is on correctly but as I said there is no boost so I need to know what little peice of crap is keeping me from my 12 second car, is it something that could be caped off or cut when the Greddy was hooked up and is still effecting the other controller because It did work until we un-hooked the Greddy (with the exception of what we think is too much fuel). Or is there more controlling the boost then the connections between Waste guage, Silniod, turbo, controller, and the attachment to the airfilter that we are not seeing or do not know about, that also controls boost. PLEASE ANY IDEA"S and ALL IDEA"S WOULD HELP A LOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First of all, I assume you checked to see that all the intercooler hoses and the like are tight, correct? Since you can boost up to 10 lbs but then it starts running rich, it sounds like you're loosing boost somewhere. I had the same problem, and traced it to a defective BOV. If you can drive it and keep the RPM's low, and still get it up to speed, I'd say it sounds like you're loosing boost somewhere. If not...

Well, you say that you are using a "TurboXS controller". Is that the UTEC, or do you have a Turbo XS boost controller as well?

Since you're running Stage 4 I assume you don't have the stock turbo, right? Make sure the restrictor is not in the line from the turbo to the boost control solenoid. I don't know whether or not that makes any difference, but with some turbos/boost controllers, I have read that it makes a difference.

We also tried switching Turbo XS boost controllers from my friends REX to my, we also switched Siliniods and that didn't work either! Is there anywhere the boost can be affected other then the obvious spots such as the Waste gate, Siliniod, turbo, etc... Keep in my we got boost before we uninstalled the Greddy!!

Give me a call and I will walk you through it, it sounds pretty simple. Only 4 or 5 things it could logically be.

Good news the turbo xs controller was bad and didn't come with the brass restrictor SO... Three extra restrictors and new boost controller later, all I got to do is mess with the timing and fuel map! Anyone know what setting the two swithes under the UTEC are suppose to be at when at a high elevation? I am getting some hunching and either turbo or fuel cut off when the pedal is at the floor?

Other then that things are back to good so thanks for all your help guys and hopefully you can help me figure out the fuel crap next.

Ummm, you shouldn't need any other boost controller with the UTEC. That could very well be your problem.

He is referring the to boost control solonoid.

Fuel and Timing is pretty straight forward. What elevation are you running there?

Ahh. Gotcha. He kept saying "turboxs boost control" so I thought he was running a MBC too.
