newbe needs help

Hello all, Im new here but not new to wrenching, Im working on my daughters 2003 wrx, all stock just over 100,000 mi. she parked it in her garage and it was running fine, she went to start it later and it turnsover like it has zero compression, I just pulled the timing covers and the belt lookes like new all of the double timing marks are lined up. cranks free just acts nike no compresson. I put the crank pully back on and turned it over by hand and very little resistance, where should I look next?
Thanks in advance, Mike

by hand what do you mean, because a breaker bar on the crank pulley will turn these motors over pretty easy
