new wrx owner with some concerns

So i just got a 2007 wagon with 38k on it. Still waiting on finance to come back though. was wondering if my concerns are normalor if i should just give the car back.

1. When arming the alarm i get no audible noise.

2. When trying to program the remote and doing the procedure in the manual i get no audible tones at all. it still works though, i just had to assume i was doing the steps right.

3. When sitting still, engine running it kinda feels like the engine shakes sparadically.

I highly doubt the 36k service was done so when i know the car is mine to make payments on i'll be doing that.

Any wrx advice anyone wants to give me would be greatly appreciated so i don't have to learn the hard way.

Im not too sure about the alarm. I know mine beeps when both unlocking and locking the car. The shake is caused by the flat design of the engine. Several of my friends that have never been around a subie thought that it as misfiring or already had a cam in it. The best bet is to sit in a few more, even the newer ones. They all have a slight "shake" to them every so often.

If you want to know if it's working lock the doors and open the trunk with the key. Also, the wrx is known for it's "rough idle".

I have the same alarm problem with mine. Sometimes it "chirps" when I lock and unlock...sometimes it doesnt. I just make sure to check before leaving my car.

yeah i know it works because i set it while in the car and waited til after 30 seconds and opened the door and it went off. I just find it weird that it never honks. Is there anyway to turn the audible honk on or off?

Hmm.. my 07 always chirps and the flashers flash when I lock and unlock it. I know there's a way to make it so all four doors unlock the first time you push the unlock button on the remote instead of having to press it twice, but I'm not aware of a way to disable the chirp or flashing.

Hold them for two seconds for the alarm to go off correct? And yeah its more of a chirp and def. not a honk, but could there be like a fuse pulled or a wire disconnected that could cause it maybe? And I don't remember seeing it in the manual, but how do you make it so that all four doors unlock with just one button push?

It's not in the manual, my friend.

It's here: http://www.scoobymods.com/mod_wrx_ke...77.html?t=3077

yeah holding both buttons on the remote doesn't work for me. Might have to take the car back anyways since financing isn't working out.
