Ok, so it is most noticeable when the car is cold. After I put it into first and drive away, it makes a sound that I could best describe as if you consistently shook rice around inside a plastic container, or the "Sshhh," sound you make when you're trying to get someone to be quiet, but a lot louder. The sound goes away when I press the clutch in, but occasionally comes back in higher gears. The sound usually occurs in first or second though. I'm assuming its a lubrication issue... Any ideas?? It happens a lot less after the car is warmed up.
where is the sound coming from? can you localize it for us?
another option is trying getting it on video for it.
is the car stock or what modifications do you have on the car?
That's just the thing. I couldn't figure out exactly where it was coming from... But the car is bone stock. 67k miles. I'll try to get a vid up this afternoon
Have you drained the gearbox and looked for shards or particles ? Does it do it in neutral (cold start) and then go away once the clutch is pressed in ? If so, sounds like a throw-out. I guess I misunderstood at first.
