motor mount not lining up

02 wrx. replaced motor mounts and now driver side is about 1 1/2 away from lining up with the hole in crossmember. I tried prying between the cross pipe and radiator support with no luck. I even tried removing the pitching rod hoping it might free up some movement. The engine needs to move back. Not my car but its stuck in my garage until its fixed. Please help!!!!

Are you sure you don't have them assembled backwards? I know the Cusco mounts that I'm running and the OEM mounts that came off my 02 were directional.. If that is not the case make sure that the mounting plates are correct.. As in you don't have (2) passenger ones..

Yes I am sure they are not backwards. When I took the passenger side off I made sure I installed the new one in the same direction as the old one. I also checked for left and right. What a PITA!!

I agree, it was a PITA to install the Cusco as well.
