I had trouble with check engine light coming on all the time with a misfire on #1. Had it in the shop for days and could find nothing. Now my engine blew and took the turbo too. I have no mods and and 04 wrx

Are you sure it's not the turbo that took out the engine? Might want to check this out. It's quoted from Forced Performance. Basically get the filter out of the banjo bolt and you're troubles would have gone away.

I think so Randy

1-Did you use the correct plugs? I'm not saying the same plugs that were in there. I mean the correct plugs from the manual.
2-What did you gap them to? If you did get the correct plugs from the manual, do a compression test.
3-What did the old plugs look like?

I'd say to SeaFoam the car to see if that helps buuuuuut.

How do I overlook things like this.... Whatever haha
I will agree with trying the seafoam, worked great for me with several things. It's basically a fresh start of sorts.

It's also possible the previous owner had put some monkey jizz on the boots and plugs and you didn't clean the area well enough.

check your coil packs and maybe go a step colder in plugs, and definitely go iridium for plugs, subarus are notorious for coil packs failing causing hesitation and studdering, also check for vacuum leaks, hope this helps
