Many warning lights on

My wife called me today on her way into work and said that the check engine light came on. Also the traction control light came on, its the one that turns on when you turn off the traction control, and finally the cruise light keeps blinking on and off. I have an 08 wrx, any idea what could be going on?

The cruise light is on because of the engine light, although it doesn't do that in every case. Get the codes pulled man, go to a baxter's or autozone I think, it's free. There are a LOT of codes, and any one of them could be behind that engine light.

Could be any number of things: WRX Links / CEL Code List

Have the code(s) read for free at your local parts store and report back here... maybe we can help. Sounds like your car is in limp mode - power is limited as a safety feature because your car's computer noticed something out of the ordinary.

Do you have any mods, or is your car completely stock?

PERFECT excuse to take it away from her.

Tell her she needs not gun it everywhere she goes and let it warm up correctly and a bunch of other stuff... she will get tired of doing it all and then you can daily it.

You are welcome.

PS. +1 Get the codes read

Hmm, those same indicator lights just came on for me too in the afternoon while I was driving. Did you ever figure out what is causing all those lights to come on?

I have an 08 WRX 5-Door.
