Hello,
I have a 2009 WRX that I am installing a rebuilt long block into (spun bearing). I have gotten everything together but after initial turn over to build oil pressure there was some oil leaking from the turbo area. I pulled the heat shield and poked around until I found a large threaded hole going right into the head (pic 3). Nice leak! Well this hole looks like the traditional place for the AVCS line from the turbo, right below the up-pipe bracket on the top of the head. If you look at the attached pictures my oil line is installed and bolts into the head below the intake (pics 1 and 2). I do have an extra oil feed line part (pic 4), but it looks like it could be the drivers side oil line, which came already installed from the long block builder(pic 5). However the line the builder installed looks different. I don't see any way for the small piece I have left over to go into that threaded hole and connect to something else, but my setup looks nothing like all the pictures of the oil lines around the internet. Does anyone know if there is something I installed wrong or if there is another solution?
I'm embarrassed to say I did pull all this apart myself, but it took 5 weeks to get my engine in and I don't remember all the installation details. :|
