Logs show my WRX is knocking!! help
New to this site and really hoping someone can point me in the right direction
Its a bugeye wrx with a ej208 block. all stock except a silicon intake pipe between the MAF and turbo (old one was cracked) I bought it in this condition, never driven a wrx before and so have no idea whats normal.
Went for a little drive today and logged it all. I also reset the ECU before so i would have a fresh table, hence it start at 8IAM. sure enough it started knocking again, at low rpm tho and under slight load.
Check out the log, i have cut out all the 'non knocking' parts. Any idea what this could be? i cant find any loose rattling parts. i did a boost leak test and there is a very small one somewhere around the silicon intake pipe but i cant pinepoint it (shouldnt matter right). O2 sensor reading seems good while it detects the knock so not running lean. I also cleaned the MAF.
Any ideas what this could be? any comments should be helpfull. also -5 in feedback correction is something to be worried about right?
I can't for sure say don't worry about it, but low rpm low load pulled timing isn't really that bad.
If you're up at 4k and full throttle and you're pulling a degree and a half I would start to worry, but under 2k like that you're probably still closed loop. None of my logs go below 2k rpm's so I can't really compare that low.
Just noticed you're afr's. You're still closed loop so the car is going to try and hold 14.7 afr as best it can, hence all the mid 14 afr's.
If you really want to see what the car is doing, post up a full 3rd gear pull from 2k-redline and we can diagnose a bit better.
