Interior Light Issue

Hey all, ok so here is my issue, pretty simple, but hopefully even more simple to fix.

When I have the vehicle on, I turn the light lever to the running lights position and nothing happens on the inside, even once I turn the switch to full headlight position nothing on the interior happens, the outside running lights come on in both positions, but as i said, not a thing inside happens, the vent controls won't light up, the clock doesn't dim, the gauge cluster won't light up. I have checked all the fuses, nothing seems to be broken. Any ideas?

Cheers

I did as a matter of fact, my stereo was stolen, I did replaced it but I remember having to rewire a few things, I took the battery out while i did that tho to prevent any surges.

Did the lights work after your stereo was stolen before you rewired stuff to install the new one?
I would double check the fuses again. Maybe put a multimeter on the box itself to see if anything is going on also.

God luck man.

Twice when I was younger, I installed new stereos and blew the lights out in the interior.
Once on my car and another time on a friends. I was only 17 at the time and just said f it.
So I knew that my install dud it, just not which part if the install. There's a good starting point for you anyway.
Best of luck........CHEERS!!!

Well...just trying to eliminate the small things. Are you sure the dimmer is turned up and not down the whole way?

I was thinking the same thing but I just checked that and with my dimmer up or down the clock still dims with the lights on. I can't see my dash lights right now as the sun is behind my current parking spot.

Depending on time of day and sun exposure. It could make a difference. You'd be amazed at how sometimes the smallest thing can sometimes be over looked.

Its definitely not the dimmer switch, its turned up and I checked it a few times. It has to be the stereo install. I've looked over all the fuses and replaced the one that was for the interior lights just in case, but its still an issue.

I've taken out the stereo and I'm going to just have it taken in to get looked over at a stereo shop. I usually prefer to do this stuff myself but I don't have the time for it these days. I will update you with what they find.

Thanks for all the suggestions and help. Worst case I'll just buy a glow gauge cluster lol
