You shouldnt run a stg 2 map with a catted up pipe . Go back to stg 1 untill you install the aftermarket

I greatly appreciate you guys going out of your way to do that research for me. I've also read that as long as I dont run the car hard then I should be good with the factory up and Stage 2 until I can atleast get the HKS up installed in June. True or no?
Also, on Friday im going to order the HKS Hi-Power exhaust so that should take care of my ghetto exhaust situation.

+1 Your MAX exhaust temp is what you worry about. That generally occurs at WOT.I hit 1200°-1300°F under cruise and 1500°F at WOT.Idle is around 800°-900°F.You are not going to have one static exhaust temp.So when you start talking about exhaust temps you need to also state where the temp is occuring.1200° at idle and 1200° at cruise are two different things. The factory exhaust will not reduce flow that much. It's not imperative you get a new catback, but depending on the level of tuning it can be benificial.

thank you dumdum, idle temp before ghetto muffler was 962 deg. WOT 1280 +/- deg.
after ghetto muffler 690 deg. idle 950-1000 deg 75% throttle. Im afraid with the factory UP Pipe still there to run WOT. I know that it needs to be changed, but like I said earlier, I do not think that I can do it by myself and you see where letting friends who are "suby tuners" got me. Boxer4Racing.com in Asheville, NC said $300 for Up-Pipe install and that is me bringing them gaskets and the pipe. Its an assload of money for one piece but, I dont know of any other way to do it. Plus, if they strip out my O2 sensor in the exhaust manifold, its on them not me. If anyone is in the Boone/West Jefferson area of NC and would like to help me out, that would be sweet.

IF you don't want to cut the A/C tube throw it up on the shelf right next to where it hangs, solves the problem. And put your stock catback back on. and my WOT EGT's run in the 1400's F.

well, this morning on the way to work, that stupid POS muffler completly fell the F*** off my car while I was going down the road. Thank God that it happend in front of my house and I could quickly get back home. On my lunch break, I took one of the welders here at work home so that he could look at the situation and his recommendation was to just buy a whole new exhaust since the factory is in such bad shape from the crappy cutting and so much rust and stuff. A simple project has turned into a freaking nightmare. What was once only $40 has turned into over $1500 to fix everything that this dude screwed up.
Lesson learned, the hard way.

i would just buy a whole new TBE and a up pipe and get it done with, its always a good idea as well to get some heat wrap for your up pipe and down pipe never hurts anything to keep it a little cooler under the hood

my DP is fine, and I have a brand new in box HKS Catless Up-Pipe. On Friday when I get paid im just gonna say screw it and order the HKS Hi-Power Catback, Kartboy Poly Exhaust Hangers, Cobb Heatshield, new 3" DP to Catback gasket, and some Samco Silicon Intercooler Hoses. Hopefully this should fix everything that got f'd up.
