humming sound

Hey i just got my wrx last week brand new, and today it's started humming when the ac kicks on, if it's at rest in the driveway it's making the noise when it clicks over and the belt and fan spin faster. Ok while not a performance question i do think it's ###### the belt or fan or compressor, my question is if it is the belt is it safe to drive because if the belt snaps does the same belt that drives the ac power the brake system.

might be a stuipd question but i'm just a bit concerned

no, its not gonna kill your brakes.....
the ac compressor belt drives just that...the ac compressor. more than likely, its just a mild compressor noise...but still take it to the dealer to get looked at. no, its not dangerous.
