I have a question...

1st question... how would you know if your fuel pump is going south already??
Are there any tell tale signs??
I ask this because my car is on stage 2 with openecu tune and the tuner said that my fuel pump was going out already. My timing was being pulled back though everything else in my log was fine.
Does a faulty fuel pump have any relation with how the engine will handle timing??
2nd question... have any of you had a gasket leak at the uppipe area???
The reason I ask is because my car is making a noise that seems like its an electric fan hitting paper at its edges when my turbo is spooling up. A tuner who checked out my car said its most probably the gaskets of my uppipe leaking.
Because based on his experience, he said every car he installed uppipes and used aftermarket gaskets leaked after a while.
But never had problems using the original gaskets.
Does this sound feasible??
