Engine Stuttering

Does anyone else have problems when there engine is still cold? It was like 32 degrees this morning and my engine was still cold when I tried to merge onto the highway. I didn't completely floor it but my engine kind of stuttered and didn't really go anywhere. I had to let off the gas and ease into. Is this probably just cause the engine was cold?

It shouldn't stutter but its not smart to get on the gas when an engine is cold. Thats how you blow seals (especially turbo seals). Engine oil pressure is at it's highest when the engine is cold.

Thanks for the advice. It not like I was deliberately getting into the throttle, I was just giving it enough to merge with traffic. I guess I know not to do that again. What I really need to do is start my car early in the morning so it can warm up.
