Engine not starting

I recently had my motor rebuilt and dropped back into my 06 STI but now it wont start, it'll turnover and try but it won't fire up. I hear the fuel pump working when I turn the key and all fuses look good, the shop that did the work doesn't know and even the dealership is stumped seeing as everything looks good and has checked out ok, does anybody have any inputs onto this problem? The car has been out for about three months now so any quick inputs would be appreciated.

Have you checked the battery?
This is going to be hard for us to diagnose, two shops have already looked at it and dont know what's wrong with it. Did either shop do a compression test?

rollin on 17's now and they're dirty

I think you just answered your question......Maybe it's time for a replacement?

I think Auto Zone has a battery testing service. Or you could do a temp swap with someone to see it that is really the problem.

I think he is still saying it wont start even with the battery on the jumpers? so its getting power but still wont start. or it will and wont take a charge to keep the battery going........ But did you check the coil packs they could have takin a crap on you. but all 4 to go out at once is odd but it can happen. If the fuel pump is going and the car is not turning over can you smell alot of fuel? after a few turns you should smell fuel. just saying maybe your fuel injectors are clogged or something.

well a few cranks but I dont smell any fuel, they are pretty much brand new injectors when I had the motor rebuilt. and to the other post, it wont start even with a fresh charge, I dont think its firing up at all, Im pretty for certain that I am getting fuel.

Why did you have the motor rebuilt in the first place? and did you look at the coil pack? or the fuse to the coil pack. maybe you missed one or something.

I had the motor rebuilt becuse my timing belt sheared, so since I had the motor out and apart I just sid to thell with it and had it completely rebuilt with all brand parts, especially with all my upgrades. But I should check the coil packs, how would you know if they coil packs went bad just by looking at them?

It wouldn't crank with enough force but it might be going. I'd start with the coilpacks

Looking at the manual, you're kinda out of luck. Resistance can't be measure since the ignitor is integrated into the coil.

I had mine out for about 3 months and running the same tank of gas scared me a little... could be fuel? Is it full? And did you replace the fuel filter? 3 months would be enough time for sediment to get really settled, Check your fuel pressure, maybe something is plugging the lines.

Also, is there an alarm system connected? Mine is supposed to not allow the car to start if it is triggered until disengaged with the remote. Not likely, but I thought I'd ask.
