Electrical

Okay so I shut my truck the other day and my brake lights flashed, then when I openned my door the alarm went off and I couldn't turn it off. I disconnected the battery and that didnt help so I cycled the key a few times and it finally went off and the car would start. But it gets better I just finished driving it and I notice that the damn tail lights wont go off. Help me please this car is killing me

Do you have subs or anything hooked up?? Bcuz you may have interfered with security when wiring or coulda clipped a wire. Or do you LEDs or anything wired in/outside abnormal?

No aftermarket stereo components, no leds or anything. Just a Hornet alarm with remote start.

I addressed what might be your issue in another thread you posted in. Check your steering column where the parking light switch is, you might have hit/bumped it, turning them on. thats where I would first start, at least for the parking light issue.

Have that alarm taken off (by the installer). They aren't worth a snot anyways. Bet that cures your issue.

Are you saying like i turned it on and didnt notice? I have cycled the switch on the column many times and they don't turn off. Not even with the key out of the ignition. I pulled the fuse for the hell of it and they turn off. I don't know what else I can do.

Go to an alarm installer and ask them to take a look. Might be something SO trivial, you will lol about it.

There are two switches for the parking lights. One on the column that also activates your headlights. And one on top of the column that does parking lights only for when your key is out of the ignition.

Or easier explained...as one of the parking light controls is on the headlight switch that controls your high beams/low beams and the other is on the top of the steering column behind the steering wheel. The one on top of the steering column can keep the parking lights on even if they ignition is off. Just trying to make it easier to understand Jon
