egt goes "crazy" after clutch install

ok, here goes:

i own 2002 wrx.

i got egt (autometerbrand).

since ive installed clutch few days ago my egt needle acts like crazy - up and down more like boost the egt. . .

i think the probe that located in the outlet was damaged during clutch install.

could it be? and if so, can i be sure its the probe and not the gauge or electric problem?

I'm having the same problem with my Defi gauge. EGT only, boost if fine. I think it's an electrical problem in my case. Try turning off the music or holding down the power window button and letting go to see if it causes it to jump any more.
