Cruise Control Broken??

Alright, so I was driving on the highway cruise control set to 80 when all of a sudden the car jerked and bahmm cruise control stopped working and engine light came on. The car drives perfectly fine but the cruise light blinks like a turn blinker and the engine light is still on. I have no idea what happened really anyone else ever had this problem?? I have on 07 rex with agency power catless tbe, I know people have said that the catless can make the engine light go on but I got about a month ago and dunno why the cruise control would go out. Any thoughts???

The cruise control won't work with a CEL on. Were you boosting when you got the 'jerk'? It could've been boost spike, especially since you have a catless TBE (I do as well). Is your car tuned at all? You should probably check to see what that CEL is if you haven't already.

My tuner told me you shouldn't gas it a ton in 5th because it can spike (don't ask me why it happens only in 5th....doesn't make sense to me). I had it happen to me once while I was still running stage1 opensource (without a TBE), because I didn't know any better about gassing it in 5th gear. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the 2.5 pushing too much air for the td04, and the wastegate can't keep up, but I'm not sure what 5th gear has to do with anything.

Anyway, if it was a spike that didn't do any permanent damage, the CEL and blinking cruise light should go away.

No, my car isn't tuned yet, sadly. But I wasn't boosting I don't believe i was chilling back let cruise control go (it had been on for about 20min) and it just stopped randomly.. How do you check what the CEL is??

Very lucky it wasnt anything else. But havinghat 07 without EM and a catless TBE isnt a safe thing either.

I'd say get it sooner than later, and most forms of EM will read CEL codes for you. If you don't have tons of cash read up on opensource to see if your comfortable with that type of EM.

Well thats just it then. Let her know that it will mess up the car. Show her the proof on here, and then let her know the different forms of it and the prices. If she is conerned for you and the car, she might reconsider.

my mother also....

she is just mainly concerned with the damn warranty. we have told her that nothing will go wrong because its not a huge change in hp... enough to break anything as long as you drive correctly and not like a jackass

Well if something happens to the car just reflash it back to stock and drive around for 10 minutes and the dealer will never know you had EM

"but I'm not sure what 5th gear has to do with anything."
5th because of load boost is load dependent and 5th would be greatest load!!
