Could be a potential problem, I don't Know?

I went out racing last night and everything was fine until I was driving home and my car just stopped wanting to run. It would bog out if I would hit the gas quickly, but if I gradually built rpms (without boost) it would be fine. This went on for a while until then my CEL started flashing. Then my car ran like real dog sh*t. I pulled over and let it idle for a min, then the car ran fine like it never happened. The CEL stayed on after that and I plan on pullin the codes this afternoon. The only thing I can think of is that the computer tweaked and then fixed itself. Any suggestions on why this happened would help ALOT.

Thanks for your time,
Noogin

pull the code....and i am willing to bet it is an EGT code.

the way you described it, the EGT probe was getting real hot from you running it hard, and it freaked out, and the ECU thought the car was running too lean, and it sent it into a limp home mode...

Well, it did it again today but this time I was just driving the car to work I pulled the codes and this is what I came up with....

P0171-system to lean
P1301- Ignition System or Mis-fire
P0545- EGT Sensor Circuit Low
P1544- Idle Speed Control

You were right about the egt code, but how do I go about fixing this problem, and what does the rest of the codes mean?

Thanks for your time

catless uppipe with the resistor mod. Supporting mods for any increase in boost.

I don't exactly understand what you are saying I should do BlueDemon.
I called the dealer and gave them the codes and they said it was a bad 02sensor, but which one is it?

ahhhaahhahahaah

not a bad O2. you ran the car hard, overheated the EGT sensor, and it went into fuel cut/limp in mode.

get a catless uppipe, and resistor the EGT probe with a 2.2k ohm resistor. no more issues with that.

the system too lean code was due to it hitting fuel cut....
the ign system misfire code was due to hitting fuel cut....
EGT sensor ckt low was due to getting it hot....
and the idle code was a BS code, due to it being in limp in

not that i have had this EXACT thing happen to me SEVERAL times.

EGT probe is first thing i chuck now....i used to be all for it, but after i had one give me issues, i get rid of it.

I already have a catless uppipe, but it has an EGT bung on it. I completley understand what you are saying about what happened. Do I just completley get rid of the egt sensor and plug the hole?

Thanks for your time
Noogin

By the way, that cleared up alot on my mind, THANK YOU

IF it was a bad O2 sensor, it'd be the first one, near the engine block. However, Double of Nothing it's exactly like Joey said.

You have to find the correct bolt for the uppipe; I used to have the measurements- Search Nasioc and you'll probably find it. Plug it up with some thread lock and then put the 2.2 Ohm Resistor in place of where the EGT sensor female connector was.

12x1.25 IIRC.....either that or 10x1.25

and resistor it.

that is all

well, i put a resistor in the female plug and it seemed to fix all of my problems. Instead of pluging the hole, I just left the EGT sensor in there, I hope thats ok. I was also wondering if the resistor gets hot because I taped it up so it wouldnt fall out.

Again thanks for your time

If you are not using the probe you should remove it. If it breaks off and goes into your Turbo you WILL be sorry.

I put the resistor in the female end of the wire harness. You can follow the wire right from up pipe and it takes you to the plug under the black cap in the left corner. It is next to the daytime driving lights amp.
