Question Check Engine Light 2004 STi

Ok here's the problem, my 2004 Sti. I installed a Blitz intake and APS BOV. After installing my Blitz intake system, and drove for awhile. The check engine light came on with the cruise control light blinking. I took it in the Subaru, and they say the engine is running too rich. They wanted me to re-install the stock intake system.

Any clues or Help anyone could give?

Put the stock intake back on!!

seriously...that is whats causing you issue. the CAI is changing the velocity the air is traveling past the MAf...which makes the engine think it is running richer/leaner then it actually is. I have never had dealings with one on the STi, but on the regular WRX, it causes a lean run problem.

take the intake of...and reinstall your factory one, sans the resonator. same power gains, yet it doesnt mess with the MAF readings.

my "slightly" educated statements......

CAI are horrible IMO. Get a short ram one if you want to hear the turbo spooling and save yourself a big headache.

I got a short ram air intake ( Blitz ). Maybe I'll just get a EMS to manage my engine.
