CEL help..

Today I was on my way to work and my check engine light came on. It happend after I shifted from 2nd to 3rd. I have a different tranny than stock becuase I replaced it with my trans axle/transferc case replacement. The CEL doesnt bother me, although I want it off, as much as the fact that the cruise light keeps flashing. Keep in mind I shifted around 3k and was not hard on it at all. Just wondering what you guys think I should do? I will probably reset the ecu tomorrow to see how long it stays off but what do you think caused it to come on? thanks in advance and for the space..

Get the code pulled. We can guess all we want, but we can't really help you unless we know what the CEL is.

my 06 was doing the same shit, my code was an cylinder1 &2 misfire. i figured out the trick though, you have to let the car get keep completley warmed up(on the temp gauge). other wise it stumbles when cold and the light comes on, and oh yeah that cruise control light is annoying!

... there should be no tricks to avoiding a CEL if your car is stock. That's a problem you NEED to get checked by the dealer.

Not only that, but resetting the ECU won't do you any good if it's a stored code. Especially a misfire code. It will stay until it's erased.

Well I woke up this morning and started my car and the light was off. I guess I will wait and see if comes on again, if it does. Anyone know of a place beside the dealer where I can get the code pulled to see what it is? I dont live very close to a dealer is all. Thanks guys.
