CEL Catalyst bad?

I have had my 02 WRX for 2 months now..and a 3" Turbo back exhaust was already installed when I bought it. I put 7000 miles on it making around 20000 miles now and my CEL came on about a week ago...never had before. I took it in to SubDealer and they stated that my exhaust is to big and my Catalyst is bad. I've read in some WRXtuners forums that I need to get the code....? Ok I'm new to Subaru's so how do I get the code? ...or what do I need to get the code.

Also, sorry so long...I like to do my own work on my cars...Is there some kind of manual out there that shows where everything is located and what it is...how too manuels or anything...basically a Chilton/Hayes manuel or something....

is the TBE catless? if so, you will have a P0420, Catalyst efficiency low
that is because there is no cat in the system. get a MIL eliminator, Cosmo will post teh link sometime...i dont have it, his link is how to make one. or, jus tget one from pony express.

Good Question, can you explain what a TBE is for a "new subaru guy"?
Sorry I'm subaru stupid, but not mechanically stupid so please explain if you have time. Also MIL eliminator...?

I look at the engine and it's a little more intense then a 350 chevy.
So if you have any links or manuel info on Sub engines it would be very well appreciative!
If explained on the pic below would be very helpful.

TBE: Turbo-back Exhaust (combination of the catback system and the downpipe)
A MIL eliminator: resistor put in line with the O2 sensor in the downpipe. Basically tricks the ECU by sending a different voltage to it so that it thinks there are cats in the system (even though there aren't).

IM me sometime and i'll explain that picture to you. To much info for just a post.

The wierdest thing happen...fc735 I was going to make the MIL but first I was going to change the oil...had 2900 m on the old oil. So I changed oil and started it up and my CEL went off and hasn't came on again. What the fuc* is going on. I remember before my last oil change my light was on and I changed it and about a hour later it went off. Whats up with that...I got the PO420 code and everthing. I went and made the MIL but I haven't installed it yet...you think I need to. My CEL isn't on! Have you heard about this before?
